2014 Keplinger's Vermillion
Tasting Notes: The 2014 Vermillion is deeply perfumed, with red raspberry, wild blackberry, black licorice, orange oil, violets, coriander, and slate on the nose. The palate is silky and plush, with red and black fruits, iron, cardamom, and black peppercorn.
Winemaker's Notes: Vermillion is a collection of brilliant red hues made from grinding cinnabar. Used since the 8th Century, it was revered by painters from the Renaissance to the 20th Century. Our Vermillion is a red wine made from a blend of Rhone varietals of varying hues, from the more modestly colored Grenache and Mourvedre to intensley-pigmented Syrah. It is an honest, hand-crafted wine that we’ve
made from vineyard to bottle, to be enjoyed any night of the week.
Composition: 55% Grenache, 22% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah, and 5% Petite Sirah.
