2012 Pedras Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Tasting Notes: Aromatic notes of ripe fruit, blackberries, plums and a layer of tobacco wrapped in dark chocolate with just a hint of cassis. Round and ripe on entry with blackberries black cherries, toasty vanilla and spice on the lush, full palate. Finishes with youthful exuberance, but at the same time offers generous complexity that suggests you will be rewarded some time in the bottle. After some time in a decanter, the aromas intensified with layers of spice, dark chocolate and blackberries. The entry gained some depth and roundness, while the sweet vanilla wrapped itself around the focused fruit core. The fine-grained tannins linger on the velvety finish.
Winemaker's Notes: All fruit for Pedras Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Ristow Estate Vineyard located in the eastern hillside of the Napa Valley at the intersection of Silverado Trail and Oak Knoll. The extremely rocky terrain of this south‐facing vineyard produces distinctive cabernet sauvignon grapes of exceptional intensity and flavor. Cecilia & Wil Harris carefully selected and purchased two tons of fruit from their family to make Pedras. The Ristow family sold the vineyard in 2013 and this bottling is the last Pedras vintage from the estate.
