2012 Husic Palm Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
Tasting Notes: The color is opaque ruby purple. The aromatics exhibit dense, salient blackberry, dark cherry, chocolate, dried cinnamon, sage, and roasted chestnuts. On the palate the wine is huge, with tons of power, yet the beautifully ripe tannins of 2012 are on full display, allowing for a smooth, long finish. This may be the deepest, most profound Palm Terrace we have yet bottled. The wine was aged in 80% new French Oak barrels for 21 months before being bottled unfiltered.
Winemaker's Notes: As our estate vineyard above the Stag’s Leap District matures, its rocky terroir becomes more and more apparent in the density and sheer breadth of the wines. The 2012 growing season in Napa Valley is famous by now in Napa, and barely needs an introduction. Palm Terrace once again is derived from our Lower Terrace in Stag’s Leap District and the extremely rocky Julie’s Knoll Clone 337.
