2011 Casa Piena Estate 750ml
Tasting Notes: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon has developed beautifully since I last tasted it this past Spring. Savory herbs meld into sweet red berries, leather, tobacco and cedar. Today the 2011 is distinctly salty and vibrant on the palate, with superb energy, focus and delineation. There is a creaminess and pure texture to the fruit that is hugely appealing...In 2011, the Casa Piena Cabernet is a bit more restrained than it usually is, but is also utterly impeccable and classy. This is a fabulous showing from Casa Piena." - Antonio Galloni (94 Points)
Winemaker's Notes: The most influential variable for 2011 was of course the climate. When you're working with a challenging year, creative and effective farming practices are paramount to overall success. The winery couldn't be happier with the end result of this wine in the glass. It embodies all the character of the site and delivers a rich, complex and complete Cabernet that once again balances all the fruit and savory notes the estate has become famous for.
