2006 Saint-Chamant Millesime Blanc de Blancs 750ml
Tasting Notes: The 2006 Blanc de Blancs displays a straw yellow core rimmed by a hint of gren and exhibits delicate, persistent beading through the richly colored liquid. Creamy aromas of green and red apple, lemon curd, freshly-baked brioche, a hint of pineapple, lees, pureed hazelnut and white mushrooms permeate the experience of the wine. The palate is round with soft bubbles that unfold into a mineral-driven, crisp finish.
Winemaker's Notes: Handcrafted for generations by winemaker Christian Coquillette, the 2006 is made in the traditional style. The grapes are harvested from an 11.5 hectare vineyard in the Cote de Blancs' Grand Cru village of Chouilly, which rests atop a massive limestone formation that extends into the earth for tens of meters, giving the wine a very strong minerality.
