SCULPTORS
Kevin Charles Christison
Kevin Christison began his college career as a football player, majoring in art history at the University of Oregon. He met a sculptor there who kindled his interest in studio art and decided to take a year off from football and try working in sculpture. He went on to the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA and graduated with a BFA. He recently was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and spent a year in Thailand, creating a body of work at Silpakorn University. He has worked as an assistant to sculptors Dan Dykes, Bruce Beasley and Stephen de Staebler. His strong and bold bronze sculptures are reminiscent of Rodin and have been widely collected for such a young artist. They can be found in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the diRosa Foundation Art Preserve, the City of Brea, Brea, CA and in many distinguished private collections.
