Rod Knutson
Rod Knutson has been drawing and painting all of his life. He was given a paint set at age 10 and it never fell out of use. He attended the Art Academy in San Francisco from 1963 to 1965, studying with Howard Brodie and Kenneth Washburn. Next he worked with Bart Depalma at Foothill College and then finished all course work for his MA at San Jose State University. Instead of presenting his Masters Show at SJSU, he accepted an offer to show at HP Corwith Gallery in San Francisco.
His unique realistic style was so well received that, after showing in 22 different galleries, he turned to doing only referral and commissioned work by the early 90's. He worked in this way for over 15 years. The I. Wolk Gallery is honored to be the first gallery that will present a show for Knutson after this long hiatus.
