Peter Zaleski
Born in Chicago, Zaleski now resides in central California, where he creates bold geometric paintings in an effort to depict the landscape that surrounds him. His work evokes agricultural fields seen from above, as through an aerial photograph or a satellite image. After his studio was destroyed in the 2003 earthquake he began to work in his present studio. This meant adjusting to the limitations of a smaller space and he found those limitations to indeed be the key to the success of this new work. Zaleski studied art at the University of Illinois and then the University of Southern California, and his works can be found in many private and public collections, including American Express, Ritz Carlton Hotels and the Pfizer Corporation.
