Bruce Lauritzen
Born in San Francisco and raised in Marin County, Bruce Lauritzen's art reflects his Northern California roots. He attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA and then went on to take his MFA from The San Francisco Art Institute. His first solo exhibition was in Milan, Italy in l964 and his work has been the subject of over 100 exhibitions since. His current subject, boats, are familiar to Lauritzen, as they have provided him with both inspiration and recreation since the 50's. Lauritzen's paintings can be found in many public and private collections, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Achenbach Foundation at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor.
